Grading: Academic & Behavior
Following HMS policy, grades are based on mastery of standards taught. Activities and practice work are required as part of the learning process. It is the student’s responsibility to turn in assignments complete and on time; students must have all assignments turned in before completing scheduled assessments (test/quizzes). Students are also responsible for getting make-up work when absent from school.
Grading Scale
A 100-90
B 89-80
C 79-70
D 69-60
F 59-50
In addition, your child will earn a letter behavior grade in each class every nine weeks. This grade will reflect your child's willingness to be prepared, have homework, and demonstrate good behavior in class.
Your child will be bringing home an agenda (planner), in which they are to use to keep up with their daily assignments. It will be the responsibility of your child to copy the agenda off the board when arriving to class each day. Please look at their agendas on a regular basis so that you can be aware of what they are doing in class. I may also use the agenda to send notes to you at times and you may do the same.
If you used Infinite Campus (aka Parent Portal) to view your child’s grades last year then you will use the same user name and password for this year. If you have any difficulties with knowing how to access the Parent Portal, or may be new to Bullitt County Schools, then please contact the front office and they can assist you with using Parent Portal.
Report Cards will be sent home at the end of each 9 week term; mid-terms (progress reports) are sent in the middle of each term. Both reports will need to be signed and turned in to your child’s teacher.
